I had the pleasure late last year to make Ashton's sisters birthday cake and when the time came to make Ashton's 1st birthday cake - Thomas the Tank Engine was the choice!
So, I decided on a Thomas "Sodor Island" theme (for those of you not in the know - this is where Thomas lives)!
Thomas, Percy and James were brought to cake life and immortalised in fondant! Everything on the cake is completely handmade and edible except for the bridge Thomas is on. The bridge is carved and covered styrofoam.
The cake is chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache.
Hi Percy! Even the little river pebbles are edible, they are little chocolate rocks!
