One of my lovely customers arranged this cake for her sister's 30th birthday cake. Luisa lives over in Italy, but still calls Australia home! Hence the theme of the party and the cake! Everyone dressed up in typical Aussie fashion {read yobbo} and the party was themed as such.
We decided on an Australian flag cake was some thongs on top. The thongs were made to match exactly what Luisa was wearing down to the little Australian flag jewellery on the thongs.
The flag cake is chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache. The thongs are carved and covered styrofoam and and the design has all been hand cut. The board was covered in royal icing mixed with brown sugar and then I sprinkled more on top for the sand effect!
Now that is what I call Australian!
