Rocking Horse Christening Cake

Very exciting day today - my little niece's Olivia & Elan's Christening Day!

It started a little while ago with the invitation being made to match the bomboniere, which then decided on the complete theme of rocking horses.

Cake design was left to me ....... I think she knew better than to try and give ME a design! I know my sister like the back of my hand and like me, she likes an elegant and simple design.

So I turned up the volume with texture!

The bottom tier was covered in shimmery pearl handmade swirls. The middle tier was the lightest of baby pinks and had embossed lines around the sides. The top tier was left simple with the decoration being the rocking horse and the open pink bloom.

The bottom tier is chocolate mud filled with hazelnut buttercream and covered in dark chocolate ganache

The middle tier is banana cake with white chocolate ganache

The top tier is lime/coconut cake with white chocolate ganache

The reception was held in the beautiful Parramatta Event Centre in Parramatta Park.

Textural elements

Shimmery handmade swirls

The rocking horse to match the bomboniere (all handmade)

And then onto the reception

The mini dessert table that I set up

Candy bar - coconut ice, marshmallows, strawberry sour straps, musk sticks and marshmallow mushrooms

Vanilla cupcakes

Cake pops

and one of my favourite shots - my beautiful sis with one of her little babies!

Happy Christening Day Olivia and Elan. xx
