This cake was made on last minutes notice!
Louise contacted me to make a cake for her for her 40th birthday last weekend. She had recently been at a function where one of my cakes was served and was obviously suitably impressed. A few things were manoeurved and I managed to fit the cake into the schedule.
In actuality, from concept to completion this cake probably took maybe 19 hours! That is including baking time! Usually these processes last for days!
So, with a short time span, and a garden lover, I decided to make Louise an interpretation of an English garden.
I like to think of it as a Monet of cake for this type of garden! You can see the art in the impression of the garden without the need for all the fine details! Well, there were details of course!
The cake is white chocolate mud cake with white chocolate ganache.
All decorations are handmade and completely edible (except for the tree top, which is fondant covered styro!)
I included a trellis at the back as Louise had mentioned she had these.
